// Three Green Machine warriors travelled to Bedgebury to take to the trails in Round Two of the MTB series.

First up in the U8’s was Elias who blasted off the start line. When the riders hit the single file technical sections things slowed for a little while but as soon as it opened up again the throttle was opened and Elias raced off into the distance taking an easy win.

Tejus was up next in a large U10 field. Hoping to fare better in R2, Tejus ditched the CX bike and reverted to his MTB. Unfortunately though, due to the quick bike change Tejus was left with flat pedals and not his clip ins. A good ride overall but one which was heavily hampered by slippery feet. Each slip was lost watts but we learn from every ride.
Speaking of which… Riley and Rianna took a laid back approach to the race and decided to share a pair of shoes. In theory this would not have been a problem however Rianna was riding her practice lap whilst the U12’s were taking to the start line. Just in the nick of time though Rianna appeared through the trees and Riley donned his shoes on the start line.

Race momentarily delayed, it got off to a ferocious start with the race leader (twice Rileys size) absolutely flying. Riley got stuck in the single file technical section on lap one but once through it was a full gas effort for the rest of the race. No chance of catching the leader, Riley took silver.
Great effort from the squad and awesome to see The Green Machine trying something different!
