//Race Report: PIPPINGFORD
London and South East CX League Round Two - Pippingford. What a race!
Welcome our new racers to the league... Kasper, Vincent and Floyd.
Welcome back to Timothy, Lucas, and Dominik (but also a welcome to the Junior League).
UNDER EIGHTS
Lola had a great race and came off on lap two. However, the little warrior got up, dusted herself off, and hit the top of the podium. All hail Queen Lola!
A new race for Kasper and what a performance from the young man, with true grit and determination, hit third place on the podium for this first-ever race in the league.
UNDER TENS
Then the mega competitive Under Tens where the grid saw a massive green wave - Daniel (7th), Tejus (12th), Elias (13th - moving up an age group), Kien (14th), Vincent (18th) and Timothy (19th) of 27 riders. On the whistle it was a blistering start from all with Kien making massive gains with one of his ‘Demon Starts’ as he calls them. He made his way through the field with some fine overtaking moves and finished 4th. Tejus made great gains through the field powering through the flats and taking 8th. Daniel battled through the traffic and had some great battles with the other riders coming home in 10th. Elias made some great gains with a solid steady race performance after being bombarded by the older riders at the start finishing in 12th. Next up was Timothy with a welcome back steadily managed race finishing 16th, followed by Vincent who finished 17th with a fine performance of true determination for this first race.
UNDER TWELVES
Sofia the solo LEC rider grinded out a 10th-place finish with a massive strong effort - good stuff.
Meanwhile, newcomer Floyd finished 22nd in his first race but had to walk over the finish line after being bumped off near the finish (well done lad!) Lucas followed home in 23rd after his first CX race of the season (he is just warming up).
YOUTH
Next Up... Ana plus the sibling rivalry of Riley and Rianna. It was a manic start and the team did a great job cutting through the field.
Rianna with a great effort finished on the podium in 3rd for her category - great going. Riley took 11th after a massive job, having to start from the back end of the grid along with Ana and carved his way through the field with a great finish. Tough going but the man dug in!
Ana - Wow, 5th. What an amazing overtake of four other riders in one swift section of the track (adopted Green Machine Tree), Ana was last of the pack of five riders, but with the slow technical twists and turns, Ana took out all four riders in front and left them for dust exiting up the hill. Bravo!
JUNIORS
We then had Dominik moving up to the Junior (welcome to the big league Sir) who did a smashing job finishing 5th in his category and 52nd out of 68th overall against well-seasoned (oldies) veterans of the sport - great going Dom!
Next up is Crystal Palace... Come on the Green Machine!
