//SESSION SUMMARY: APRIL 22ND
// This morning Coach G and I put Group Two through progressively trickier activities.
Sunny Sessions in the park this Saturday!
We started with a tight slalom (remembering to keep our inside pedal up) then began left and right handed high-fives with the coaches before we unleashed chaos with high-fives with each other (23 one way and some suspect counting made 34 the other). We finished up with bottle hand offs with the coaches. This was great and some massive progress across the squad — everyone getting more comfortable and honing their one-handed riding skills.
Secondly we worked on dismounting mid-ride. This was something which came up at the go-ride last weekend and can really maintain speed in a race. We began with becoming comfortable swinging our non-dominant leg back, all the way through to moving dismounts and some impressive flying mounts!
A bit of racing, some shrinking circle, an unplanned round of ‘soak the coaches’ and our time was up. We’ll build on this next week as Group Two continue to impress!
// The Racing Snakes in Group Three were put through their paces by Coach Vi.
Group riding over a Velodrome first third of the session with gear changes along with pacing (some riders had bike issues but all resolved bar one…) Into the second activity with some of the velodrome used but we went off route for a more technical turns with slight inclines… all riders kept going with advice of changing GEARS…. Then riders were then coached technically where to change which improved performance…
Lastly the route was run in reverse and few laps of how the riders liked to ride. After the hearing coaching — riders were flying…!!! All the riders’ endurance and stamina has improved and the positive attitude has helped them progressed…!!! The progression is visible…!!!
Well done Group Three riders…!!!
