//RACE REPORT: SITP 2023 01

// The Limited Edition Race Team made their debut at Round One of this season’s series.

Starting things off in the Under Eights race were Elias and Lola. Both were off to flying starts but the long drag back up to the start / finish began to take its toll on both riders after a couple of laps. Gear selection (or lack of!) seemed to be the issue. Elias came home fourth and Lola second.

In the Under Tens we had Tejus and Lucas representing. Again, both off to great starts but both again hampered by lack of gear changes! As usual both riders were giving it their all, coming home 11th and ninth respectively.

Riley and Edie lined up in the Under 12s. In a stacked field that had to take on the ‘Dog Leg of Doom’ this was going to be a lung-busting race. Both riders had an amazing start and it was green jerseys leading into the first corner! After a lap or so mini groups started to form, Riley settled in the front group and Edie working nicely with another rider taking pulls on the front. In the end the front group looked destined for an bunch sprint in which Riley had positioned himself very nicely, putting the afterburners on at the bridge he shot up to the line taking third!

Edie was also destined for a mini sprint and fancied her chances going early. Unfortunately tiring towards the end, Edie missed out but it was a brilliant ride.
